On each of the last 13 days before the Nov. 2010 election, I'm
offering a new idea, thought or comment on how we can better position
Wisconsin for brighter day of economic prosperity and job growth.
6 days until Election Day
Wisconsin enjoys a mighty manufacturing base, and to save those jobs
and stay globally competitive, we must transition from commodity
production and manufacturing to advanced manufacturing, high-value
production and innovative technologies. An essential part of that
strategy is to produce home-grown talent in STEM fields (Science,
Technology, Engineering and Math). By visiting high schools, I’ve seen
the PTLW program accomplishing this goal, encouraging students of both
genders to pursue academic and career opportunities in stem fields.
